United 00 is looking for experienced, dedicated skillful soccer players. We are going to field two (2) U-13 boys teams (players born AFTER 8/1/2000) going into the 2013/14 soccer season. Our current team has 18 players and we are looking for up to 10 more experienced boys to create these 2 teams. Both teams will be coached by Myles Stoddard and Patty Stoddard.
Myles has played professionally in several European and American leagues, played for the US U-21 national team and has coached soccer for several years. Patty has been involved in organized soccer in Reno for over 30 years as a coach, referee and parent of successful soccer talent. Patty carries a B license, and along with Myles will be coaching both teams.
The current team has travelled to 5 out of state tournaments, is currently signed up for Labor Day Truckee tournament (2 Teams) and NORCAL State Cup (1 select team). The team is managed by Klaus Grimm, who holds a soccer coach E license and helps with game and practices when necessary as well as organizing team travels, practices and other management duties.
United 00 Red has been playing in the U-13 division, as a U12 team, the entire season year to better prepare for the 11v11 tournament games. Most recently the team participated at the Redwood City Showcase, Manteca and Placer tournaments, all featuring top teams from California. We are a competitive soccer team and we train year round with a minimum of two weekly practices at Sage Ridge Soccer Field, GBYSL league games, NORCAL fall and winter league as well as several local and regional tournaments.
Our coaching philosophy goes beyond traditional soccer coaching and teaches each individual that no ONE person is more important than the team. We not only want our boys to be exceptional soccer players, but also exceptional teenagers that understand the difference between winning and winning at all costs.
